Similar activities as performed by the African RTCs for their regions are considered for laboratories in Africa that are not covered by the RTCs in West and East Africa. These activities are planned by the project partners FIBRE and CIRAD, and are conducted by FIBRE, CIRAD, the African RTCs, or by subcontracted institutions (e.g. from South Africa).
African RTC trainings are open for interested participants from all over Africa. Technical information and advice is given through this website and by the internatinal and regional experts involved in the project. A Round Trial for extra fine cotton was established by FIBRE in 2010 and is now routinely performed. Retest activities have started and retesting at the laboratories of FIBRE and CIRAD is possible for laboratories from African regions not covered by an African RTC.
